3D model description
Thank you for checking out this Bartop arcade machine. (PARTS LIST AT BOTTOM FOR EXTRAS NEEDED)
This took weeks to design and test etc and the files have now been collated and verified for use by anybody.
Before we get into this please note:
- WE ARE HAPPY FOR THIS FILE TO BE USED BY ANYBODY FOR ANY PURPOSE INCLUDING REMIX AND COMMERCIAL AS LONG AS WE ARE ATTRIBUTED AS THE ORIGINAL CREATORS.
This is not a small print by any means and consists of 16 individual 3MF files containing multiple plates. We have optimised it to be ready to print on the P1S printer.
Colours & Design wants:
- Side s have included blank plates or the ones we use in file 14. You can customise these however you like or use the included ones.
- The marquee is provided blank and can be customised with any text you want to make for it.
- The underside is designed to be fitted with an led strip. We suggest a diffused 2m strip to allow the Pi to power it via USB and not run short underneath.
- The machine is designed to be in 3 colours. Each file has the colours set at standard “ANY COLOUR 1” or “ANY COLOUR 2” that you will see on any plates in the 3mf files when opened… Pick any 2 you like and stick with them throughout as each setting and it will line up correctly when assembling the machine.
Please note the following points before printing:
- We have designed this machine to be a mostly dowel and glue assembly. We recommend a small rubber hammer for tight parts such as inserting lettering etc. Glue should be used in any places you see fit but ESPECIALLY ON THE ASSEMBLY AND THE TOTAL MACHINE ASSEMBLY.
- This is a NON AMS design so should be able to be printed by anybody without loads of poop or complicated changes etc.
- Print each part/ one at a time and assemble them with glue before moving onto the next .
- Some parts of the machine use heated inserts but this is only due to custom changes that might be needed if you use a different monitor or electronic internals etc.
- This cabinet was designed to be used with a simple PI3 and retro pie setup which you can for free directly from the retro pie website with very clear instructions on how to set up etc. We will not assist with this only with cabinet assembly questions etc. We do however note that the machine has been designed with the following buttons that will need scripting into your retropie setup… Home, Power, Save and Load.
- This has been tested to work fine with up to a 22" monitor on standard VESA points.
- FILE 18 contains extra s and braces that can be glued into any areas needed depending on weight of internals added such as monitor etc. We have tested this out with various systems and found it to be very stable once complete.
Total print time and materials after optimisation:
- 7kg PLA Plus (Allow up to 8 for any errors or poor prints and do not use the aux fan etc).
- 220 Hrs total print time for the P1S on the profiles provided.
(Please calibrate your machine and filament of choice before beginning).

3D printing settings
Should you be using any other printer than a P1S please note the following general guidelines on printing settings:
- 10% infill with Gyroid pattern.
- Minimum of 3 walls.
- NO S NEEDED on anything except the marquee file inserts.
- We recommend printing them in the orientation they are set as this will allow textured plate pattern etc on the outside of the cabinet.
